Here's another example of the versatility of simple oval post earring tops, and the less is more design principle.  So simple, yet satisfying.  Sometimes all you want is a pop of color.  Think of how many happy little earrings you can make with this earring top, some head pins, and strands of colorful beads.

You could also consider dropping tiny silver dangles & charms, and still maintain a tiny footprint.
